Hotel Caledonien

BRIEF:

The new owners wanted to modernise and rebuild the hotel keeping the theme of the original architecture from 1962, with the interiors reflecting the characteristic architecture of the 60´s. The key words were ‘Mad Men anno 2018’.

We were inspired by the history of this 60’s iconic landmark in the heart of Kristiansand situated by the sea. We wanted to capture the essence of the 60´s architecture, but in a modern setting. Thus, we focused on creating a unique and exclusive atmosphere, whilst keeping a warm and intimate feel to the different rooms for guests to feel comfortable in and inspired by.
