Anemone Wille Våge was born in Sæbø in the Hjørundfjord, surrounded by steep, majestic Norwegian Alps. In the first few years of her life the family lived with her grandparents who run the family furniture factory B.O. Willes Trevarefabrikk. “I can still smell the sawdust and oak veneer, hear the circular saw whine and the brushes blow”. She was 9 years old when her parents built a house and she got a room of her own and the opportunity to tailor her first interior. “I designed the furniture and my grandfather produced them. In the bed I made a hidden room to put the duvet and pillows. I also got drawers, cabinets and tables made to fit the room perfectly. I even hand made a lamp out of an inflated beach ball, rough string and glue.” Everything was painted in a warm brown colour with contrasts in pop red – just like the Anemone studio’s newly launched graphic profile.

“I designed the furniture and my grandfather produced them. I also got drawers, cabinets and tables made to fit the room perfectly.”

Anemone started her career with a degree in journalism. She also tried the fashion industry for a while, but her passion for interior design persuade her to start her journey in the industry. She then began to do editorial work for interior magazines as a stylist. “Somewhere along the way I hooked up with Nina Dreyer Hensley, a fashion photographer also looking for a way out. We did some spec shoots together, ground breaking stuff at that time. Building up environments from scratch in empty apartments, borrowing all the furniture. We even made orangeries and a bathroom. It was scenography at the highest level! We sold articles to Norwegian and international magazines. No one else was doing this at that time”.

After working in the industry as an interior designer since 1989 she founded the interior architect company “Wille Interiør” in 2011 (today Anemone Studio). With over 30 years experience in the field she is today the creative director and head of the company’s design process.
Anemone has through time created a characteristic style as well as an aesthetic synonymous with sophistication, luxury and grace.
